In Switzerland, nature is always close by. Even from the city, a detour into the forest is usually not far. Finding a beautiful spot of nature for an exploration tour is a bit of a challenge.

Just 10 kilometers south of Zurich is the largest mixed deciduous forest in the Swiss midlands. During a walk through the giant trees of the Sihlwald, the hustle and bustle of the neighboring city recedes into the distance. In Ticino, a large forest reserve awaits in the Valle di Lodano, where unique beech forests have flourished since the last glaciation.
A hike through the Swiss stone pine forest in Val S-charl in Graubünden is also an experience. The trees grow up to an altitude of 2,400 meters and the oldest specimens are over 700 years old.
